Why we built LekhaBooks

GST is hard. It shouldn't be the reason a good business struggles.

We started LekhaBooks in 2026 after watching too many small business owners lose evenings to spreadsheets, reconciliations and last-minute return filing. A single mismatched invoice could mean a notice. A missed deadline could mean a penalty. The tools that existed were either built for chartered accountants or for an older era of desktop software.

We wanted something different — software that speaks the language of an Indian SMB owner, files GST correctly the first time, and uses AI to do the boring work so people can get back to running their business.

Today LekhaBooks helps thousands of merchants, traders, freelancers and growing companies stay compliant without a finance degree. That's the whole point: compliance that disappears into the background.
